Needle-Felted Wool, Felt, Tyvek
20x22x12 inches

Picture
The body of this piece is made entirely out of needle-felted wool and the house head is made from felt sheets, tyvek and metal. This figure is experiencing the discomfort caused by remembering a place. For me this place is somewhere I only have bad memories. Somewhere housing trauma and negative associations. I replaced the figure's head with the house where my own abuse took place. I manipulated the house’s texture and positioning as well as the figure’s body language to achieve a composition that best expressed my emotional state. The house here is created from memory: an impression rather than an exact replica.
